A$AP Rocky embraces his new role as father to daughter Rocki Irish in an exclusive conversation at the 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards in New York City.
The Harlem-born rapper, whose legal name is Rakim Mayers, attended Monday night’s ceremony at the American Museum of Natural History, where he recounted the joys of raising his first daughter with partner Rihanna.
The couple welcomed Rocki in September, adding to their family, which includes sons RZA, 3, and Riot, 2.
When asked to define what “girl dad” means to him, Rocky gave a typically confident answer. “The A$AP Rocky of 2026, you know. Look at me,” he told PEOPLE exclusively at fashion’s top awards show.
The 37-year-old artist’s playful comments hint at his excitement about becoming a father with a daughter after years of raising two boys.
Rocky appeared at the CFDA Awards just months after he was acquitted of felonious assault charges in February 2025, and Rihanna has stood by his side throughout the legal proceedings.
In a separate interview with Entertainment Tonight at the same event, Rocky explained how he feels about his new family member. “Rocky is cuter than ever. You know, she’s my twin, so that’s awesome,” he shared. “I’m so happy to be a girl dad at this time.”
The rapper admitted that his sons may experience some sibling rivalry with their new sister.
“I think they can be a little jealous sometimes, but they don’t have to be,” Rocky explained. “Lots of love all around but it may take some getting used to. Shout out to my boys and my baby girl, man. Daddy loves you.”
Rocky’s comments come on a big night for both him and Rihanna in the fashion world. The couple were both honored at the ceremony. Rocky received the Style Icon Award, the same recognition Rihanna received in previous years.
