AJ Snow and Jansport J are back again with their latest album “God Don’t Like Ugly”. With Snow on the mic and Jansport J on production, the duo once again shines. Their chemistry continues to evolve beyond their previous collaboration, “Tomorrow, We’ll Eat Steak.”

The album opens with the title track, “God Don’t Like Ugly,” in which Snow reflects on his journey – betting on himself, leaving Texas for Los Angeles, and struggling in the music industry. It’s a deeply personal introduction that sets the tone for the rest of the record.

Next, “A Better Life” explores the pursuit of wealth and success and talks about the sacrifices required to achieve it. “Summer at the Run” captures the carefree, luxurious lifestyle that comes with success, while “Formula 1” conveys themes of independence, ambition and perseverance in the face of adversity – especially when dealing with fake friends who pretend to only want the best for themselves.

“Coastin'” (starring Zoe Osama) keeps the momentum going with themes of staying ahead, ignoring the haters, and staying focused and resilient. Pickleball at Porter Ranch (starring Wes Weir) emphasizes clarity of thought, patience, faith, and gratitude—celebrating success while still maintaining a grounded perspective.

In “Beach Day,” Snow paints a vivid picture of relaxation and joy—from enjoying time with your partner to soaking in the beauty of the coast, all while keeping money-conscious busy. “Dumbo” (featuring JAMS The Flava Child and KoolKidKalvo) promotes the album’s entrepreneurial spirit by emphasizing self-made success and financial independence.

“Hella Elegant” (starring Musalini) delves into change and ambition, celebrating the rewards of hard work and the sophistication that comes with it. Finally, “Mirror on the Wall” concludes the project with a reflection – facing the reality of growing up in difficult circumstances, living on the streets and losing friends, and facing naysayers. Snow’s message of self-reliance, growth and hope for a better future left a lasting impact.

God Don’t Like Ugly is a cohesive and introspective project that showcases AJ Snow’s mature lyricism and Jansport J’s refined, soulful production. Together they create an inspiring body of work rooted in perseverance, confidence and authenticity.

Album Rating – 9/10
