Cam’ron is reportedly suing J. Cole for failing to reciprocate after Killa jumped on Cole’s “Ready ’24” track last year.

On Tuesday (October 28), TMZ broke the news that Cam has filed a lawsuit against the head of Dreamville. The Harlem, New York, rapper claimed that he and Cole agreed that Cole would jump on Cam’s songs or appear on the “It Is What It Is” podcast if Cam appeared on the song “Ready ’24,” which “may be deleted.”

The song was recorded in 2022, and Cam said that ever since, Cole has claimed that he was too busy to reciprocate. Therefore, Camron decided to take the matter to court.

Cam said he has not been paid for the collaboration. He wants a judge to force Cole to make Cam a co-writer on the song and pay him more than $500,000.

In addition to Cam’s appearance on the song, J. Cole’s “Ready ’24” also samples the 2002 Diplomats hit “I’m Ready,” produced by The Heatmakerz.

J. Cole has been musically silent since the release of his Grammy-nominated mixtape “Delete Later” last April. Guest appearances on the project include Gucci Mane, Central Cee, Ab-Soul, Daylyt, Young Dro and Ari Lennox. Last November, Cole released an in-depth audio series about his life and rap career called “The Inevitable.” In February, the song “Cloud” was released.

XXL has reached out to J. Cole’s team for comment.
