In a recent interview, Nas looked back on his 2006 statement that “Hip Hop Is Dead,” saying the genre was “lost for a minute” but credits Kendrick Lamar and Clipse for bringing substance and craft back to the mainstream. He also teased that his next album will “connect the old world to the new,” hinting at a possible VR listening-experience tie-in.
