Rod Wave has made his long-awaited return with a new music video and tour announcement after taking a 10-month hiatus to focus on his mental health.
The Florida-born rapper released the visual for his new single “Leavin” on Sunday night (October 12), marking his first new content since stepping back from the spotlight earlier this year.
In the nearly three-minute video, Lord performs in a dimly lit mansion, delivering original lyrics over his signature melody.
The news quickly gained traction online, with supporters flooding social media to welcome him back.
In addition to the video, Lord also revealed that he will be hitting the road again.
His upcoming Redemption Experience Tour kicks off on December 7th in Los Angeles and concludes on January 2nd in Miami.

Rod Wave announces retirement from spotlight
The 27-year-old announced the news after months of silence, having put his career on hold in January to prioritize his health.
In a message shared with his followers at the time, Lord wrote: “Going to travel, see the world, find love, raise kids, back to school soon, last lap has been smooth, one hell of a ride. Thank you everyone.”
He then spoke directly to his critics and loyal listeners: “The rest of you dragging my name, talking about me like a dog, talking about me constantly, attacking me, and things that make me happy, I don’t talk to you. To the true fans who love me thank you. This is not goodbye, just goodbye, keep your head up and remember, as long as you have music, you are never alone… until we meet again.”
Rod has been addressing his mental health issues in his music and public statements, often using his platform to connect with those going through similar experiences.
His last project, A Beautiful Mind, was released in August 2022 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
With “Away” and a full tour on the horizon, Rod seems ready to return to the spotlight on his own terms.
The redemption experience tour will begin on December 7th in Los Angeles.
