Over the past week, Young Thug and Doja Cat have released their respective new albums on streaming platforms, which can also be sold directly on physical sales.
We all know that Thug has been in the news lately due to his ongoing tensions with Gunna and others, and all the private calls from prison leaks that the world can hear. The buzz of the music must be low when the Atlanta rapper dropped his new album Uy Scuti, because he didn’t have the song that had made an impact for a long time.
The first week of sales forecasts are now in. UY Scuti is expected to move 48K copies in the first week, with only 2K from pure sales. HDD reports that it will debut on the #7 mark on next week’s Billboard 200.
Doja Cat made the 80s pop sound with her latest VIE, which was the first week of 59k. Her pure sales are better at 25K and are expected to rank 5th on the chart. This is definitely a very small number for someone like Doja.
Mariah Carey’s new album is here, because the pure sales arithmetic is 55,000.
