Cardi B attacked the charts and rewrites hip-hop history on this week’s second studio album, A AM I The Drama? Ranked No. 1 on the Billboard 200, which made her the first female rapper to release her first two albums on top.

According to Luminate, Bronx-born Cardi B moved the same unit of 200,000 albums in the first week, with 88,000 of which were pure album sales. That number marks the first week of sales this year for women in rap.

“Thank you so much for everyone who supports my album!” Cardi wrote on social media. “Two weeks ago, the album was expected to do 115k on the outside and in the fictional players. I don’t know what the result is, I haven’t released the album for 7 years.”

She added: “You don’t know the confidence and enhancement you bring to me in the music.

Cardi nodded to her recent pregnancy and joked, “I can’t pop champagne…but maybe I can turn on some cranberry juice or something!”

Thank you so much for everyone who supports my album! Two weeks ago, the album was expected to do 115k on the outside and in the fictional players. I don’t know what the result is, I didn’t release an album for 7 years and didn’t release much music last year, but we just exceeded all expectations… Thank you for listening to an album for everyone on the album, doing a video for the songs and all the songs! You don’t know the confidence and improvement you bring to me in the music. We celebrate tonight! ! ! I can’t do without champagne…but maybe I can turn on some cranberry juice or something!

Her first album, Invasion of Privacy, also debuted in 2018. The project sold 255,000 units in the first week.

The project won Cardi BA Grammy the best rap album, which made her the first female rapper to win the category. Each track on the album ended up being platinum or higher and stayed on the Billboard 200 for over 100 weeks.

The seven-year gap between albums only magnifies my drama expectations?
