Priscilla Presley, who recalled his short and controversial marriage to Michael Jackson, did not back down when recalling his late daughter Lisa Marie Presley’s brief and controversial marriage to Michael Jackson, called the league a calculated move by Pop Superstar to align himself with Presley’s name.
In an excerpt from her upcoming memoir, I Leave You When I Leave You: Life After Elvis, published by the Sun, Priscilla Presley reveals her profound retention for Lisa Marie and Jackson’s 1994 wedding, which ended in a divorce two years later.
“I was shocked by marriage,” she wrote. “I know Michael did not marry Lisa Mary;
Priscilla, who married Elvis Presley from 1967 to 1973, also questioned the motivation behind Jackson’s interest in her daughter, especially given the timing.
She advises the pop king to try to repair his image amid serious charges.
“Michael is a manipulative person, and I think he had mastered his sight before he realized it,” she wrote. “The childish innocence he predicted was part of his public mask.”
According to the memoir, Priscilla faces her daughter about the nature of her relationship with Michael Jackson.
“I asked her if she had a physical relationship,” she wrote. “Like many people, I’m not sure. What she said is.”
Billie Jean’s singer was reportedly distanced from Priscilla and other members of the Presley family, often choosing to date children rather than adults during family gatherings.
Priscilla added: “When Lisa Marie filed for divorce in 1996, I could almost hear Elvis sigh.”
