The PRA from Fugees was forced to undergo emergency surgery for colon cancer and the verdict was delayed after being conspired to be charged.
“PRAS was unable to attend the verdict hearing scheduled Friday due to emergency medical procedures to remove cancer from his colon. We hope he can recover in a complete and fast manner as he navigates the legal affairs and health journey,” he said in a statement, according to the legal team.
It has not been previously revealed that the Fugees rapper has been diagnosed with cancer. No further details on the status of PRAS have been disclosed.
Due to the operation, his verdict date has been moved to October 3. It was originally scheduled to be held last month.
PRA was convicted in his conspiracy trial, such as failing to register a Chinese agent, and thus faces up to 22 years in prison.
The U.S. government also followed him for nearly $65 million.
In December, federal prosecutors filed a motion for a confiscation order, ruling against members of the group for $64,923,226.40.
The figure stems from what the Fed said is that the total payment from Malaysian businessman JHO to PRAS was $102.4 million, part of several “plans” designed to affect government officials to end the investigation into the low-missile investment fund 1MDB and the sending of the Chinese state back to China.
According to Hollywood Reporter, Donald Trump is considering a possible long sentence for commuting with Pras.
Trump has not publicly commented on the PRAS case, but the rapper’s PR staff said his legal team is “exploring all available options after his case” and “stay optimistic about potential pathways forward.”
PRAS and TRUMP have a relationship of nearly 30 years.
The famous property tycoon Trump appeared in the form of voicemail on PRAS’s debut album Ghetto Supastar.
