Babychiefdoit caused a storm in rap and the streets split. The 17-year-old Chicago rapper has recently become clear about writing his lyrics using Chatgpt. Why did he do this? Now we have to have “reality” again in the rap debate. Some say it’s cheating, others call it a smart business. I’m not sure, but I know it’s not hip hop.
Hip-hop has never been a perfect culture. For decades, ghostwriters have been writing verses for legends (and trash rappers). The industry factories sprouted overnight and the fan base grew completely. AI feels different, but does it? BabychiefDoit is just following the rules of 2025 and not the one in 1995…I think.
Using AI is definitely not a scandal or tragic violation. He seems to be trying a new tool. pause. chatgpt is “help”. If you can use Tech to make the process faster, why not? This is not Rakim. However, it felt like the rough rolling rolling on a rocky hill.
The older head grabbed the pearl.
What we can say is that children are honest. He did not pretend that these bars were his own. Once, he said he asked someone to write a song. He said bluntly, “Yes, I used AI.”
Rap is changing. I don’t know if this is good or the worst thing ever. Some people think it is a time of “adaptation or death”. You can also adapt to and maintain standards. BabychiefDoit will keep his name in the mix and we will further advance his career by writing about it.
Here are some comments.
“I think there will be a new generation of artists and fans that normalize AI and know nothing about it. Personally, I can’t really sign it.” – rapper and writer Rob Markman
“Using AI like this will lead to the decline of the entire music industry. Where is the creativity?”
“I never checked him out, but he was always cool 🙁 lost a lot of respect for it.”
“I would rather write down the bar from the dome than s ### like this. Where is the soul and personality of the lyrics? Where is the authenticity?”
“Your favorite rapper is already doing this”
Rap evolution. I just hope this is not a disguised power. That’s true, too. Babychiefdoit may just be waving in music history.
