Diddy has reached out to Donald Trump to try to receive a presidential pardon before the October sentencing.
While the most serious crimes of sex trafficking and racket were found to be uncounted, the jury still found offences related to prostitution.
Two counts of engaged in prostitution and traffic were sentenced to up to ten years in prison.
Didi’s defense team, Nicole Westmoreland, CNN This has already made the president’s proposal.
“My understanding is that we have reached out and referred to the pardon,” Westmoreland said.
Trump has previously hinted that he is unwilling to pardon his criticism of his presidency.
“I’m very friendly with him, I get along well with him, he looks like a good guy. I don’t know him very much. But when I ran for office, he was very hostile.”
He added that pardoning Didi would be “difficulty”.
Diddy will continue to be in jail until his bail application appealed after being closed by a judge in October.
The supervisory judge claimed that the record executive failed to prove the “abnormal” reason why he should have been released.
Diddy’s history of domestic violence has also been cited as the reasoning behind denying his bail.
One who does support the rapper’s release is an ex-girlfriend named Virginia Huynh, who was supposed to be a witness at the trial when she was only called “Victim 3”.
In a letter to the judge, Wheen said he should be allowed to bail “allow him to continue to take care of his family and fulfill his responsibilities while still being subject to court supervision.”
Huynh also detailed her relationship with Diddy: “Like many people, our relationship is not always perfect, we have experienced ups and downs, made mistakes, but he is willing to admit his mistakes and make better decisions in the future.”
She added: “In the following years, he made obvious efforts to be a better person and address the harm he caused. By the end of our relationship, he embodies the energy of love, patience and tenderness, which is significantly different from his past behavior.”
