The rapper-turned-Telvis executive asked the Los Angeles judge to enforce the settlement he said Ryan Kavanaugh agreed but later tried to rewrite it.

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is dragging film producer/entrepreneur Ryan Kavanaugh back to court in Los Angeles for what he said is blatantly breach of settlement agreements related to their dispute at the Film Skills House.

According to a motion filed by Jackson and his company NYC Vibe LLC, the rapper turned into Mogul claiming that Kavanaugh, together with Skill House Movie LLC and Gentv LLC, agreed to a nine-point settlement earlier this year, but later tried to change the terms. The motion requires the court to enforce the original agreement, which the legal team at 50 Cent said was accepted in writing and should be binding.

“here [the proposed settlement agreement] Yes,” wrote the 50 Cent attorney. “Please say yes or no. Unfortunately, Mr. Jackson will not accept any further negotiations. According to the document, Kavanaugh’s team made a clear “yes” response on the same day.

The dispute centers on a series of email exchanges, i.e. 50 Cent’s lawyers believe constitute a complete and enforceable contract. “That’s great. Thank you for doing this,” the lawyer in the 1950s replied after accepting the agreement.

But things quickly disappeared. Despite agreeing to close the deal immediately, Kavanaugh’s side was allegedly delayed for weeks before returning with a relisted version of the agreement that changed key terms. The plaintiffs said these last-minute changes equaled a “material violation” and forced them to seek a preliminary ban in June before the release of the film.

The motion will be heard in the Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday (August 28), and he argued that the court often maintains a settlement agreement even if no formal contract is signed, as long as both parties agree to the basic terms.

The motion states: “The law clearly shows that the solution is favorable and enforceable in the event that the parties agree to all material terms and objectively demonstrate the intent to bind.”

The 50 Cent team said they no longer take other legal proceedings based on the deals they believe are concluded. But when Kavanaugh’s camp allegedly tried to return the terms, they had no choice but to return to court.

The hearing is scheduled to be held in front of Justice Hernán D. Vera, the First Street Court Building in downtown Los Angeles, at 10 p.m. on Thursday (August 28).
