This is the second EP of Detroit, Michigan producer and rapper Blizzard. In addition to the 3 instrumental projects he has already launched, his 2021 full-length debut was a moment for Yung Fam Mafia co-founder Duel Death Death Death, the producers in the middle fingers jumped onto the microphone instead of getting a bunch of guests to perform last spring at Shaolin Capital and Iron Tiger. A full year later, the Demon Killer seemed to have taken it a few steps further.
After the introduction, the self-produced title track compares itself to nuclear weapons, performs 25 kill states in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, while the “Shadow Box” brings the boom bap atmosphere, talking about grabbing the hand or grabbing the blade from him. “Midas” observes those Trynas in difficult circumstances themselves and when they surface on foul mouths, “fatal Venom”, talking about becoming a walking guillotine, “execution’s hands” close the EP by grabbing the stick and tearing the shit.
Shaolin’s Iron Tiger is the most blizzard we’ve ever heard of in Mcing, instead of producing the demon killer alone, he goes back from behind the board, except for a few songs and ignores his own fort fort, he hones his functions more deeply. The production of sample transparent boom bap is still there, but it was refreshing to hear the best sounds of his performers and I’m glad he showed him more.
