Drake has been on the bullet train to reach its highest point since dawn of the past decade. The unsuspecting child actor from Toronto has become a habitual hit rap star and proved it with influence, numbers and praise. Even in the 2024 battle with Kendrick Lamar, the boy continues to thrive in the eyes of many. That being said, should Drake take a break from the music?
In 2023, Drake appears to be at a crossroads throughout his career. During a February interview with Lil Yachty, Drizzy talked about getting an outlet for grace from music.
“I think I’m exactly what I want right now, like I felt like we talked about the other day,” Drake told The Boat. “But I feel like I introduced the concept in an elegant exit.”
Eight months later, he released the day his most recent solo album, For All Dogs, released, Drake said he would take a break from the music and focus on his health.
“I probably won’t make music,” Drake explained. “I’m going to keep it realistic with you. I need to focus on my health, first of all, I’ll talk about that as soon as possible. Nothing crazy, but like you know, I want people to stay healthy in life.”
“I’ve been having the craziest problems for years. I’m just saying what this is.” “So, I need to focus on my health, I need to do the right thing, and I’ll do that. I still have a lot of things I want to focus on. So, I kind of locked into the door in the studio. I don’t even know anything. Maybe a year or so, maybe longer.”

Then, five months later, six gods were swallowed up by K-Dot’s lyrical quarrels, and nothing was the same. Whether he wants to admit it or not, Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” all wore drizzling Beetle armor. Kendrick took advantage of the fight with five Grammy wins, Super Bowl halftime performances and the biggest year of his career, too, having to sting. In January 2025, Drake sued UMG for a slut of “not like us” slander, polarizing fans and his rap companions.
Still, for Drake, it has been as usual, as he continued to put down the music at a steady pace and made some hits and misses in between. This seems to prove that Kendrick’s record-breaking Diss is a small thing for the Giants.
At this point, there is no disappearance and reappearance of viola, as he said, he will be in 2023, and it may not be a bad idea. Drake has given up a project every year for the past seven years and has been around social media, never having the mystery of his absence for too long. It would be nice to give fans a chance to miss him and put the whole beef in the back view.
Instead, it is all-out steam. Drake has been laughing at a new album called “Iceman”. On the weekend of July 4, he released his new single “What do I miss?” and he talked about the drama of the past year. The song debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 rankings, proving that rumors of Drake’s demise have been greatly exaggerated and that fans are still evil for New Chune. So, it’s hard to blame Ovo Head Honcho for working hard in the paint.
Will Drake ever get off the pedal and bring himself a chance to return to the season? If you are reading this, it’s too late.
