Why is R. Kelly overdose in prison?
According to CBS News, R. Kelly’s attorney Beau Brindley was awarded “the drug that could kill him could kill him.” He reportedly went on to prison staff at the federal correctional facility in Butner, North Carolina after he was convicted of rackets and sex trafficking in 2021, where he reportedly took the drug, which led to an overdose of the embattled singer.
“Mr. Kelly’s life is at risk, and this danger comes from prison officials and their actions,” NBC News reported. “Mr. Kelly needs the intervention of this court. His life really depends on it.”
Despite being taken to Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina on June 13 for a medical emergency, the Chicago native was allegedly forcibly evacuated from the health center to object to medical advice. R. Kelly’s lawyers have asked the artist to serve the rest of his time in family custody. Brindley claims the Federal Bureau of Prisons is “trying to kill “Kelly” to cover up the crimes committed in the investigation of his case.”

June 10, R. Kelly’s lawyer filed an emergency motion in Chicago, accusing the Bureau of Prison and Justice Department officials of trying to get the incarcerated entertainer murdered by a prisoner who was allegedly part of Aryan Brotherhood. Sting obviously told Kelly that he was asked to murder him.
Court documents alleged that prison officials allegedly contacted BOP inmate Mikeal Glenn Stine to kill R. Kelly was detained in a federal prison in Tucson, Arizona this year. Stine reportedly has a diagnosis of advanced cancer, and he offers an opportunity to “the last month of his last months as a free man” in exchange for killing Kelly.
