Kendrick Lamar’s unrivaled domination at the top of the rap game continues, with the Compton, California rapper winning five wins at the 2025 BET Awards.
Kendrick Lamar almost swept the 2025 BET Awards
Kendrick Lamar live broadcasting the BET Awards in his hometown of Los Angeles on Monday (June 9), where Kendrick Lamar dominated the game in the same way as he did in the past year, with some changes. K-Dot leads all artists to nominate 10. Since he was nominated multiple times in multiple categories, he had the potential to win six total awards, so he ended up with five awards.

Album of the year won the most wins in the category with Beyoncé champion K-Dot. Kendrick is about to accept his Album of the Year award, during which time host Kevin Hart awarded him four other awards.
Kevin said in the video below: “I just brought more awards. You’ve been at Winninig sh*t all year and I just thought I’d stand in front of it.”

Doechii makes a statement at the 2025 BET Awards
In response to the streets of downtown Los Angeles in direct response to the streets of downtown Los Angeles at night of protesters’ federal attacks on immigration and customs law enforcement (ICE) last week, Doechii made a sharp statement while accepting her award for Best Female Hip Hop Artist.
“While I am honored by this award, I do want to address what is happening outside the building,” Doechii said. “There are some ruthless attacks that create fear and chaos in our community in the name of law and order.”
“Trump is using the military to stop protests. I hope you all think about every time we exercise the right to democratic protest, the military will be deployed to us.
