Cardi B deleted a petition from her fans, asking her long-awaited second album to spread on Wednesday (May 28), prompting the rapper to jokingly announce that she is tightening her safety.
A social media user shared the petition titled “Eurce Cardi B releases her sophomore album,” which appeared on Change.org.
The information implored the Bronx-born star to end a seven-year drought since its debut, a privacy violation, calling the wait “exciting and painful.”
The petition section reads: “Cardi B’s music speaks to many of us, resonates with our personal experiences, joy and struggles… We have danced, cried and celebrated her repertoire, and it’s time to get a new chapter in her musical journey.”
But Cardi B was not moved by the heartfelt plea. Instead, she frolicked on X (Twitter), joking that she needed to increase her protection for fans.
“I’m very scared of you and I’m improving my safety,” she wrote.
The Grammy winner is open to the delays in her sophomore effort, often pointing to collaborators’ holdings.
“I really need these F ################### she said earlier this month. “It’s like I’m not really trying to go crazy or crazy with these artists because I love them, but it’s like, come on! Still, she laughed at the possibility of waiting. In a recent X-space chat, Cardi B said: “The features on my album are really impressive…I don’t have a lot of features, but I’m working with a range of artists, some familiarity and some new features. Newcomers will really surprise you.”
