Rod Wave was detained in Fulton County on Tuesday (May 20) on a felony list for the April 21 incident, marking another legal hurdle for the top hip-hop artist.
The 25-year-old rapper Born Rodarius Marcell Green faces 13 felony counts, including aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the felony, pointing the firearm at another person, criminal damage to the property, reckless behavior, and tampering with evidence, according to documents from Allhiphop arrests.
He was released later the same day after he issued the margin.
Although authorities have not confirmed details of the alleged incident, online speculation has linked the case to the Mini Barbie, the current girlfriend of Rod Wave, Nari.
Unverified social media chat has been prone to suggest that he might have fired a shot at her or her vehicle, but police have not publicly addressed the requirements.
The arrest added Rod Wave’s previous run with the law. In 2022, he faced battery power due to domestic disputes, which was later removed.
In 2024, he was arrested in Florida on firearm-related charges. However, the case was dismissed after its legal team argued that he was mistaken for a convicted felon. His lawyer at the time said, “There is absolutely no evidence to show wrongdoing.”
There was no court date announced, and neither Rod Wave nor his legal team made public comments.
Rod Wave Public Spit with Girlfriend and Ex
The arrest comes after a chaotic public hatred that happened earlier this year involving the mother of Mini Barbie and Rod Wave’s ex-girlfriend Dee, the mother of his twin daughters.
A woman named Zaria added fuel to the fire and recently claimed that Rod Wave’s father was her newborn daughter.
He denied the claim and accused her of extortion and posted screenshots that he had sent her $5,000 and accused her of asking for $35,000 for an abortion or business investment.
In the drama, Rod Wave posted a remorse message on Instagram, writing: “I’m sorry. I didn’t even experience it. I ruined everything. It messed up. It hurts you, you’re by my side. I’m sorry I hurt you. These people are nice to me. I’m sorry to me. I’m sorry, what I don’t know is not worth it, but I’m not worth it. He ended the post: “None of you are good.” ”
