This must be the 11th studio LP of Harlem from Royal FEV in New York. Coming up a little over a decade ago off his full-length debug Around My Way, it wasn’t until 2020 when he saw his biggest year yet by dropping not 1 but 3 well received projects: the Statik Selektah-produced sophomore effort Fresh Air along with the Termanology-produced debug EP From El Barrio, With Love & the Big Ghost Ltd.-produced 3rd album The Ghost of Albizu. Then it all goes with Magnum Opus, and the mystery produced by Dalí’s Vanderslice and 4 EP: Supreme, Prayer, Weeds and Music, E Pluribus unum, sunsets in the slums, and of course the blood that Finns produce on their bills. The last time I covered the FEV was last summer, when Fredro Starr fully produced Trapped & Vansleazy back for the pyramid plan, which was a surprising surprise.
After the introduction, the first song, “Snake Charm,” was the hip-hop opening of jazz, talking about his driveway that he blended street knowledge with drug games, while “Dynamite” paired with Nems Cross across Rap Rock & Boom Bap, they felt like they were 1B $1B. “Razor Keys” hooked up some outstanding pianos and talked about eating all this rapper, from pushing Dope to rap until “Momotoro” returned to the rap rock atmosphere, refusing to fool it.
Last spring, the same “stunt squad” that worked with Vanderslice’s production could be recorded at the same time, although it’s still hard, and after the short episode of “Never Heard You”, “Blue Face Hunnids” brought the keys back to an era when he felt he would be bigger. “Hit List” takes a affectionate approach, and “Money Man Jr.” Flzy’s featured finds them transcend and expand.
The penultimate song “No Grant Hills” returned to Boom Bap Talkikg grinding, and he didn’t even sleep for a few days, before constantly trapping Airbnb&, “Free Sam Bankman” called for the FTX CEO and Alameda Research Coodunder Sam Bankman Fins for 25 years, about the same rate as he called for a closer sam Bankman. He committed wire fraud, conspiracy to commit securities fraud, conspiracy to commit commodity fraud and conspiracy to launder money.
Even though the 1,000 yards produced by Bodag Ben gaze over the crack and I didn’t have time to cover it, I still think it’s a great way for him to start 2025, and now he’s taking it to the next level of the pyramid scheme. Its guest list is stronger than that thing for people, Painted House 2 combines the tough production of Vanderslice, from Boom Bap & Jazz Rap to Rap Rock.
