DJ Mustard raised calories on Drake during the Coachella setting on Friday (April 18), playing Kendrick Lamar’s “Don’t Like Us,” not once, but twice, prompting the entire crowd to chant the lyrics and accuse the rapper of being a pedophile.

This moment could cheer on Drake’s ongoing defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group.

After staying neutral on the weekend, Mustard was loud and clear on his second Coachella appearance.

The producer of Los Angeles made the Grammy-winning rhythm behind Lamar’s harsh Diss track, ending his scene with a straight jab at Drake, flipping a line from Kendrick into his own taunt:

The crowd didn’t stop it.

As a speaker who “Don’t Like Us”, thousands of voices responded to Kendrick’s verses, marking Drake as a pedophile, the heart of the rapper’s lawsuit against UMG.

This moment contrasts with the first weekend performance of Mustard on April 11, and he avoids controversy altogether.

This is his hit catalogue and has appeared from Ella Mai, Roddy Ricch, 2 Chainz, Big Sean, YG and Tyga. Songs like “Rack City,” “Boo’d Up,” and “Ballin’” took center stage, but “Not Like Us” was obviously missing.

Mustard’s involvement “not like us” is a career milestone. He spent months sending the beat to Lamar before the track got together.

The final instrument is carefully crafted in about 30 minutes, inspired by mustard sauce, and if paired with Lil Jon, Dr. Dre might have produced it.

Beat’s positive rhythm and sharp percussion helped the song achieve great success, including winning five Grammy Awards at the 2025 ceremony, where it won the Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance and Best Music Video.

Meanwhile, Drake took legal action against UMG, claiming that the tag promoted a song that mistakenly portrayed him as a pedophile, causing threats and harassment.

His lawsuit alleges that UMG used the song’s Super Bowl and Grammys to damage his reputation before contract negotiations.

UMG said the lawsuit was “founded” and accused Drake of trying to review the hip-hop struggle through the court.
