Kendrick Lamar and SZA are finally launching the sultry visual “Luther”, which is the top of their list with Lamar’s unexpected 2024 album GNX (GNX) and classic soul nostalgia.
The visuals of “Luther”, directed by Karena Evans, blend elegance and subtle storytelling, tenderly capturing both Kendrick and sza in their respective love interests. The video subtly ends a tribute to Cheryl Lynn and Luther Vandross whose original original work “If the World is Mine” gently disappears, reminding viewers of the enduring legacy embedded in Lamar and Sza.
Lamar accidentally dropped “GNX” in November, silent on the ongoing whispers of the upcoming release. The album quickly conquered the Billboard 200 rankings and became Kendrick’s fifth consecutive project to No. 1, proving his unrepresentative control over the hip-hop throne. All 12 tracks from this surprise album made their debut simultaneously on Billboard’s Hot 100, with 5 excellent spots. Last month, “GNX” regained its title, marking its third week as its U.S. debut album.
Originally debuted in third place on the Billboard Hot 100, “Luther” temporarily dipped in the charts, but took a coveted first place in the Super Bowl halftime show with Kendrick and SZA Electiatifed Mutified Mutiences. The track has since consolidated its dominance and maintained an impressive No. 1 spot for seven weeks.
Kendrick Lamar and SZA are now preparing to ignite the stage nationwide with the expected “big country” joint tour. The tour is scheduled to open in Minneapolis on April 19, pledging to end sharply on June 18 at Northwest Stadium in Washington, D.C., with exciting performances in major cities including Atlanta, East Rutherford and Los Angeles.
