Baka is not good, and he doesn’t back down while speaking to Kendrick Lamar’s criminal past and his position in Drake’s Ovo Sound Crew.
The Toronto rapper, a longtime friend and collaborator of Drake, responded to Lamar’s appeal during his recent appearance on the “Hot Freestyle” podcast. Baka marked the charges as “absurd” and revealed that Drake personally urged him to remain calm.
He responded to Kendrick Lamar’s lyrics “Don’t Like Us” – “Baka has a weird case, why is he nearby?” – quoted Baka’s legal trouble in 2014 and became an online meme.
“The first thing I did was to respond and respond very effectively,” Baka said in the interview.
He continued, “Because where I came from, this is not going to happen. You can’t just shout out a man and there’s no paperwork to support your conversation. That’s ridiculous.” “And then, seeing the whole country celebrated like the whole country, like a real story is incredible…I have a child. Drake has a child, you know what I mean. So, the allegations like this are ridiculous, and it’s ridiculous.”
Baka admits he is overwhelmed by anger until Drake receives a call to help him calm down.
“He’s like, ‘yo, I know how you feel. I know you’re a person, I know how you got down, but I just let you know, don’t listen to the noise because you’re back and then watching all these people talking or talking people talking or having something to say, they’re not real people.
Baka pleaded guilty to attack in 2015
Kendrick Lamar’s lyrics refer to Baka’s arrest in 2014 for allegedly trafficking, assault and publishing death threats.
He was accused of forcing a 22-year-old woman – her then-girlfriend – to engage in prostitution. The woman also alleged that Baka attacked her during the argument. She claimed that when she scolded him for burning in the oven, he scolded him for pushing her to the floor after being drunk.
The worst charge was dropped after the woman refused to testify. In 2015, Baka pleaded guilty and was sentenced to six months in prison, although he had no extra time due to the fact that he had spent ten months in pretrial custody.
The royal lawyer confirmed that the woman was not forced to remain silent and has since ruled with Baka and moved.
Drake publicly welcomed Baka’s home in April 2015, and later signed Ovo Sound in 2017.
