Wendy Williams will be the focus of the April 1 coast-to-coast protests as supporters gather in New York and Los Angeles to demand custody of her court orders and draw attention to unjust restrictions in Manhattan memory care facilities.
According to social media posts, demonstrators will gather outside Coterie Hudson’s yard in New York at 10 a.m. local time on her Hollywood celebrity trip in Los Angeles, part of #Freewendy’s growing growth.

The campaign aims to end legal arrangements that have controlled Williams’ finance, medical and personal lives since 2022.
The former daytime talk show host, diagnosed with frontal dementia and major progressive aphasia in 2023, is expected to show her support to her support within her assisted living facilities until 2 p.m. ET, according to organizers.
Wendy Williams is hospitalized
The protests took place just a few weeks after the police had a health check on March 10.
She allegedly threw a handwritten note from the window that read: “Help! Medical staff transported her to Mount Sinai Hospital where she was psychologically evaluated.
Williams has since claimed she passed a mental competency test and intends to use the results to challenge her custody in court.
She has long insisted that she is mentally and does not belong to the facility, described her surroundings as isolated and said she spent most of her time alone among older residents with severe memory.
“I feel like I’m in jail,” Williams said in a previous public statement.
Her family also spoke out loud. Relatives launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise $50,000 in legal fees. The fundraiser was designed to help her regain control of her life and finances.
Williams has been worried about his health and financial situation since 2022. Despite her repeated opposition to independence, her arrangements remain.
