Police-led press conference about double shots in Memphis
On Sunday (March 23), the Memphis Police Department held a press conference to speak about a double shooting involving the sauce Walka, which took place outside the Westin Hotel opposite the FedEx Forum in Memphis on Saturday afternoon (March 22).
“It seemed like a targeted shooting incident,” said Don Crowe, assistant director of MPD. “The victim was in a car outside. The suspicious vehicle was pulled up. Several people shot out of that vehicle without any conversation. They returned to the white vehicle and fled.”
“We want to assure our communities and visitors that downtown Memphis is a safe place,” Crow added. “This incident is not a random act of violence. Early signs that victims and suspects know each other. We understand public concerns and reiterate that it is not a random act. The MPD is committed to bringing the responsible person to justice and will use downtown cameras and other available technology to help everyone involved.”
Police have identified the vehicle used in the shooting, but the suspects are still large. When Sauce Walka suffered a leg injury, his artist Saedo P (born Letorian Hunt) was shot to death. He is 27 years old.
