Unpopular Yungeen Ace in Jacksonville after Sheriff TK Waters’ firm stance on the city’s growing drill music community and its alleged violence.
Waters talked to journalist Peter Santenello during a ride and summoned the genre without hesitation, a genre that was popular in Chicago and now in the Florida wave.
“It’s here too, man,” Waters said. “It’s, we love to drive them out of town. They have a few, and they know they can’t live here anymore. I don’t even want to come up with a special song because I don’t want to praise these guys.”
Waters quotes Yungeen Ace’s track “I Smoke,” which sampled Vanessa Carlton’s pop music “A Thousand Miles.”
Waters didn’t say what it was unsettling, adding: “They sampled her songs and then they did a song, a rap. They were talking about people who were actually killed in Jacksonville, about five or six of them, right? They got their name in that song. But that’s the rap of diamonds. It’s nonsense, but it’s influential because they were talking about people who were actually killed.”

Yungeen Ace named in alleged stupid murder
At a bond hearing in July 2024, detectives from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and Tampa Police Department detailed Yungeen Ace’s alleged connection to Jacksonville rapper Charles Jones’ deadly shooting, which was foolish.
Authorities provided evidence, including telephone records and surveillance footage, showing suspicion of suspected gangs associated with Yungeen Ace carefully stalked him during a birthday celebration in Tampa before ambushing him.
Investigators say the Fool’s killing was meticulously planned, an escalation of long-standing disputes among competitors, especially with Yungeen Ace.
Sheriff Waters stressed that community safety is the core reason the department is vigilant against surveillance for rappers such as Yungeen Ace.
“Yungeen Ace has long been famous in Jacksonville,” Waters said. “We’ve been monitoring these groups. We have people who have been watching them all the time. But he can’t walk around without his knowledge. It’s to improve our community.”
Yungeen Ace has not yet faced formal charges related to Foolio’s murder.
