Meek Mill called on his supporters to help him fight the million-dollar tax bill he suffered a decade ago.
According to the Philadelphian, the IRS issued a tax bill to him in 2013, which was larger than his total income that year, and he is now seeking to challenge payments.
He went to X (Twitter) on Monday (February 24), complaining about the pressure on nearly $3 million.
“IRS made me pay $2.8 million since 2013, and I made only $2 million,” he wrote. “How should I fight? I’ve been paying taxes since I was 23… Random payments are around 3M, Your account is under pressure! ”
But while some provide specific tips or explanations, many of his followers urged him to seek professional advice from accountants.
One person replied, “You have been paying taxes since you first started spending money.” “Just an idea, but call an accountant. You know someone is experienced in these issues.”
Another added: “Imma is here to go out and say, none of your followers have this problem.”
Meek Mill denies he is heavily in debt to the IRS
Others mistakenly believe that Meek Mill is facing legal trouble at the IRS, and tax bills can put him in jail, similar to other rappers and celebrities.
However, Meek kept the record in a follow-up tweet, insisting that he had no debt and instead objected to the IRS’s needs because he didn’t think it matched his reported income.
“I don’t have taxes [debt],” he added. “I mean, I know if I only got 2m up to 2m in 2013, I don’t owe 2.8 taxes! ”
Meanwhile, earlier this week, Meek Mill teased his upcoming collaboration with Friday “being proud of me.” He shared a video of his Philadelphia himself reflecting on his father last year.
The track feature on Friday’s upcoming album is that sometimes I’m bad sometimes Friday (February 28).
