Los Angeles-based rapper Lefty Gunplay was arrested on Monday (February 24) in El Paso, Texas, on Kendrick Lamar’s GNX album Cut “TV Off” Stand out of the box.
According to local CBS affiliate 4 news, authorities arrested the West Coast rapper ahead of the city’s scheduled performance. He was attacked on three charges: not wearing a seat belt, in the presence of prohibited items in the correctional facility and possession of controlled substances. The left-handed gunfight was then booked at the El Paso County Jail.
The cost of controlled substances is related to having 4-200 grams of unknown substances. Under Texas law, a conviction could result in up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
The rapper released $35,000 in bonds and was released the same day he was booked.
Lefty Gunplay hosted a party in El Paso and performed at Friends Sports Bar & Kitchen, but missed the event due to his arrest.
Online videos allegedly showed left-handed gunshots in handcuffs escorted by a police officer at the city’s medical facility.

The rapper briefly resolved the situation after being released after an interview with local radio host Patti Diaz.
“Later, I’ll learn more about what’s really going on, but if you know, you’ll know,” he explained. “I feel like I have to combine it with my El Paso fans. I know I’m in Germany There are a lot of fans in Texas. Things aren’t going to be resolved as they should, but at the end of the day, everything has a reason. I love Texas…I hope we can do it right.”
When asked about beef with a Texas rapper, left-handed shooter replied: “Don’t believe everything you hear on the internet.”
