Kendrick Lamar Conquers Rap Game in 2024, Dominates Super Bowl Stage and Beats Drake

After years of simmering tension, Kendrick Lamar proved he’s the true king of rap in 2024. The Compton rapper delivered a blow to Drake and J. Cole, who had placed themselves on his level, with a series of strategic moves that reshaped the rap landscape. Kendrick’s “Not Like Us” shattered records, topping the Billboard charts and breaking streaming records, while his sixth album GNX surpassed one billion streams in under a month.

The beef between Lamar and Drake reached new heights in May 2024, with Kendrick’s verse in “Not Like Us” delivering a cutting response. Legal battles also erupted, with Drake suing Universal Music Group over defamation claims, while Kendrick clinched five Grammy Awards for the song, including Song and Record of the Year.

At the 2024 Super Bowl halftime, Kendrick’s performance wasn’t just a show—it was a statement. Using the stage as a symbolic battleground, Lamar turned his set into a commentary on race, power, and political turmoil in America. Featuring Samuel L. Jackson and Serena Williams, Kendrick’s performance was layered with meaning, from references to Black unity to scathing critiques of American society.

As Lamar sets out for a national tour with SZA, Drake performs abroad in Australia, far from the cultural epicenter of hip-hop. In a calculated move, Kendrick continues to bask in his victory, while Drake struggles to keep pace, miles away from the throne Kendrick has firmly claimed.
