Kendrick Lamar’s 2025 Super Bowl halftime show chain makes audiences wonder: What does the rapper’s letter “a” mean?
During a performance in New Orleans on Sunday (February 9), the rapper appeared on the court wearing a diamond necklace with the lowercase letter “A.”
The letter is of great significance to K-Dot, but many speculate that the necklace may be a dig of rapper Drake, a strife Kendrick has been ongoing with for most of last year.
Why is Kendrick Lamar wearing a lowercase “one” chain on the Super Bowl?
The lowercase “A” in the logo of Kendrick Lamar’s multimedia communications company Pglang.
The company was founded in 2020 by Lamar and Dave Free. Based in Los Angeles, PGLANG focuses on music, movies, TV, art, books, podcasts and costumes. PGLANG aims to convey the creativity of this generation through various media.
So Dot is relocating his company’s logo with the chain. Plus, he also features the company’s name on the back of his performance jacket. “A” also appears on the flags waving by crew members in the Super Bowl field.

Kendrick Lamar’s lowercase “a” chain a dist to drake?
Kendrick Lamar and Drake Rap Battle consumed hip-hop for most of 2024, and public hatred moved into the Super Bowl.
In his song “Not Like Us” Lamar rap, “Tryna strucks the chord, which is probably a minor.” The lyrics are double seducers, which both quote a small musical chord and also elicits Drake’s hint, Drake calls it “certified pedophile” in the song and has an inappropriate relationship with minors.
The dispute escalated into legal action, with Drake filing a lawsuit against Universal Music Group over the allegations that “is not like us.”
During the 2025 Super Bowl, K-Dot rekindled controversy while singing the lyrics of “A Minor” and called him out by the name while watching the TV camera directly, and explicitly disbanded Drake.
On social media, many rap fans speculate that Kendrick was wearing during the show, which was actually the “small” letter “a” and was also a lawsuit against Drake, while others explained that it was part of the PGLANG brand.
