Lizzo celebrated a personal victory on social media this week, announcing that she had achieved her “weight release” goals – the Grammy-winning artist’s holistic approach to prioritizing health and body neutrality.
Lizzo shared her milestone on Instagram, posting a photo of herself glowing in a crop top and leggings. title?
A simple yet powerful “I did it!” followed by a deeper dive into what this accomplishment means to her.
“Today, when I stepped on the scale, I hit my weight loss goal. I haven’t seen that number since 2014!” she wrote, reflecting on her triumphant return to personal balance.

Lizzo explains that this is not a traditional fitness journey, her focus is on embracing a nurturing relationship with her body.
“Let this remind you that you can do anything you put your mind to. It’s time to achieve new goals!” she added, expanding on her growth mindset.
Her celebratory post also detailed her progress: Since starting her health journey in January 2024, her BMI has dropped by 10.5 points and her body fat percentage has dropped by 16%.
Lizzo has long been a champion of self-acceptance and has been encouraging others to love their bodies for years.
However, in an interview with The New York Times last March, she revealed that her views on body neutrality had changed.
“The idea of body positivity has broken away from outdated mainstream ideas,” she said at the time. “It has evolved into body neutrality. I don’t lie every day and say I love my body. The bottom line is, the way you feel about your body changes every day. Some days I love my body, and other days I feel Not too positive.
What’s most striking about Lizzo’s post, however, is her methodical approach to transformation.
“I take time every day to put some love into my body,” she shares. “I never regret going for a walk or doing Pilates.”
