Kendrick Lamar has announced his former label mate SZA as a special guest at the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show.
Kendrick Lamar adds SZA to Super Bowl performance
On Thursday (January 23), Apple Music released a new trailer promoting K-Dot’s upcoming performance during Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans on February 9. The Compton, Calif. rapper gave a speech while playing on his phone while walking on the football field.
“Yeah, everything is going great. I’m on the court now,” Dort said. “Say it, keep your body moving and let the beat play out. This field is a lot bigger than people think. So, it’s a must. I’m always thinking about guest performers…”
That’s when SZA poured the rapper a Gatorade drink.
Kendrick Lamar’s SB halftime show performance was one of the most talked about halftime shows in recent years. Some fans were upset that Lil Wayne didn’t perform at the New Orleans show, which initially caused controversy. Now, the big question is whether Kendrick will perform “Not Like Us.”

Kendrick Lamar and SZA on tour
The move to add SZA to the series is fitting. Last month, Kendrick announced that he would embark on a national tour with the R&B singer. The 23-stop tour will kick off in Minneapolis, Minnesota on April 19, stop in Los Angeles, Atlanta, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto and other cities before ending in Washington, D.C. in June 18.
