In March 2024, Cardi B’s friend Star Brim was sentenced to prison on RICO charges. She turned herself in in September of that year and began her sentence of one year and one day. According to reports, her original surrender date was July 1, but the judge granted her request to postpone the surrender so that she could take her son to his first day of kindergarten.
She celebrated her last night of freedom with Cady. There were even words of encouragement about her time in prison. “It’s a reset,” the woman explained. “Because when she graduates from the big girls’ school, everything will be new.” She went on to praise her friend’s progress.
Cardi B accuses Hazleton Correctional Facility of disrupting Star Brim’s emails and more
“It’s like we’ve grown up,” she said. “You’ve become such a different person, like, I really want people to hear her story, it’s so inspiring…” Cardi became emotional at this point, telling Star to turn off the camera. Unfortunately, at least according to Cady, Starside’s stay doesn’t seem to be that easy. Most recently, she accused Star Brim of abuse at Hazelton Correctional Facility in an Instagram Story.
She called for an investigation into the facility, claiming it kept inmates in freezing temperatures and that her friend had yet to receive her email. “They’ve been playing with my friend’s star mail, which is a federal crime, and she hasn’t received mail since November, which makes no sense,” she claimed. “They don’t have heat in their rooms for inmates, and the temperature Below 0 degrees.
