Tay-K’s run for freedom ended in 2019 when he was sentenced to 55 years in prison for the 2016 murder of a man in Mansfield, Texas. Now he’s preparing to fight a second murder and try to prevent spending the rest of his life in prison. Here’s everything we know about the upcoming trial.

Police say Taymor McIntyre, who was on the run for the 2016 murder of Ethan Walker, robbed and killed Mark Anthony Saldivar in April 2017 Anthony Saldivar).
According to witnesses, several men were seen arguing in a black SUV. Police said the group, which included Tay-K, robbed Saldivar before he got out of his car and began yelling for help. Saldivar eventually jumped on the roof of the car. A passenger, believed to be Tay-K, got out and shot him. The group then fled the scene, leaving Saldivar dead in the parking lot.

In February 2024, Tay-K rejected the plea deal and decided to take the case to trial. A 200-person jury is expected to be convened on February 7, according to KSAT.com. The song “The Race” released during this period went viral on the Internet. Testimony is expected to begin on February 10.
