Cordae and Naomi Osaka have split after five years together.
The four-time Grand Slam champion announced the news on Instagram on Monday (January 6). Osaka revealed that she and Cordae had parted ways, stressing that there was no animosity between them. “Hi everyone, I just wanted to say that Cordae and I are no longer involved,” she wrote. “There was no malice at all.”
Osaka also praised the rapper as a great father, expressed gratitude for their time together and expressed his blessing for his daughter.
“He was a great man and a wonderful father,” she added. “Honestly, I’m really glad we met because my daughter is my biggest blessing and I’ve been able to grow so much from our experiences together.”
She also posted another note looking back on the year ahead.
“I came to the conclusion that what it meant to me was that maybe certain situations were happening that could train my mind for what was about to happen,” she shared. “Maybe there are bigger and better things on my way and I just have to continue the journey to meet them. That being said, it’s going to be a great year.
Osaka’s announcement comes less than a week before the 2025 Australian Open and a day after an injury forced her to withdraw from the ASB Classic final in Auckland.
Cordae and Naomi Osaka started dating in 2023.
Meanwhile, Cordae is getting ready to hit the road on his upcoming The Crossroads tour.
The 23-city journey started in Sacramento on February 5, passed through Houston, Atlanta, Toronto, New York and other places, and finally ended in Chicago on March 16.
