Nicki Minaj may face criminal charges stemming from an alleged assault that occurred last April.
Detroit police have issued an arrest warrant to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, law enforcement sources reportedly said. Once a thorough review is conducted, they will decide whether to file criminal charges. Prosecutors will ultimately make the final decision.
As AllHipHop previously reported, Minaj’s latest legal troubles stem from Brandon Garrett, who said he was the rapper’s manager during last year’s “Pink Friday 2” world tour. He sued Mina for assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ and filed by attorney Thomas Feher, Garrett said Minaj sent him on an errand after the Detroit concert. Garrett said she was furious when she found out after he returned that Garrett had sent someone else to pick up her prescriptions.
“Are you crazy for letting him take my prescription?” she allegedly screamed at him. “You have lost your mind. If my husband were here, he would knock your teeth out. You are a walking dead man. You will never become anything as long as you mess up your whole life. I Will ensure this.
Garrett said she then hit him in the face, causing his head to swing back. Minaj allegedly told him to “get out,” so out of fear, he locked himself in a restroom at Little Caesars Arena for “several hours.”
Minaj’s attorney, Judd Burstein, denied they had ever seen the lawsuit.
“Currently, no complaints have been received [Nicki Minaj] Therefore, we are not aware of the specific charges,” Burstein said in a statement. “However, if this lawsuit is what TMZ reports, it is completely false and frivolous. We believe the issues raised by the former assistant will [Nicki Minaj’s] grace.
