Tyler, The Creator is capping off 2024 by sharing his personal soundtrack for the year, listing his favorite songs and highlighting his eclectic taste and appreciation for music. Just hours before midnight, Taylor took to X (formerly Twitter) to post 15 of his songs that have defined his life over the past 12 months. The roster features an impressive mix of artists and genres. Kendrick Lamar’s “GNX,” GloRilla’s “Hollon,” and ScHoolboy Q’s “Cooties” earned their place alongside gems like Lupe Fiasco’s introspective “Dominican Barber” and Tommy Richman’s soulful “Green Therapy.”
Taylor also gave a nod to Knxwledge’s atmospheric “uaintfrmhere.” Notably, he added his own track “Judge Judy” to the selection. When confronted by a fan who questioned the choice, Taylor responded: “Yeah, I love the music I make. I’m confused about that.” His candid response highlighted his confidence and depth of his craft link. Tyler expressed his gratitude for the music that shaped his year in the post, saying: “Thank you all for these songs. I’m so grateful to hear them. I love you. I want to eat them.” .
Tyler the Creator Thanks AzChike, GloRilla, Tommy Richman, David Miller and More for Making His Favorite Songs of 2024
GloRilla is having a big year in 2024, which includes teaming up with creator Tyler on the fan-favorite song “Stickyy.” She released her debut album Glorious in October. The album includes works by T-Pain, Kirk Franklin, Sexyy Red and others. Kendrick was on the list after Taylor performed at the iconic Lamar-led Pop-Out concert.
Taylor surprised fans with a remix of Kendrick Lamar’s “Hey Now,” which he renamed “That Guy.” On Christmas Day, in response to a fan’s wish for him to freestyle on the track, Taylor got it. “Merry Christmas. Have fun,” he wrote, sharing a YouTube link to the remix. The remix video is a treat for longtime fans, with appearances from Taylor’s old Odd Future collaborators Jasper Dolphin, Travis “Taco” Bennett and Lionel “L-Boy” Boyce.
