Last Friday, the hip-hop world received extremely sad news that OG Maco passed away at the age of 32. There were false reports of Marco’s death, with his family claiming he was still fighting for his life. Unfortunately, the Atlanta rap pioneer eventually succumbed to his injuries. Fans later mourned the rapper and noted his influence in the trap world. He was largely responsible for the rise of artists like Migos, and for many, his song “U GUESSED IT” is a huge source of nostalgia.
OG Maco’s family knew he was beloved by the hip-hop community, so they decided to release a new posthumous album on New Year’s Eve. This new album is called “Legends Live Forever 2” and is the follow-up to “Legends Live Forever” released by Maco in 2019. Additionally, it was revealed that all proceeds from the album will be donated to the artist’s family.
Overall, this was a great move from the family. While some consider a posthumous album to be a negative, there’s no doubt that Maco fans are ready to get behind it. Plus, it’s all for a good cause, which makes it even better. Ultimately, we hope fans give this project the love it deserves. Additionally, we hope this encourages fans to go back and listen to OG Maco’s classic songs. Additionally, fans should look for deep cuts.
