Andre 3000 has re-entered the music scene in recent years. The beloved rapper reinvented himself as a flutist, much to the confusion of fans. Andre had a clear idea of the music people wanted to hear from him, but he insisted that he needed to follow his muse. Not including the new Outkast album Muse. Andre 3000 and Big Boi are teaming up to set social media on fire. Unfortunately, Three Stacks doesn’t think this is a real possibility.
The artist discussed his feelings about “Outkast” in a recent Rolling Stone profile. He admits he was willing to work with Big Boi ten years ago, but felt the window had closed. “I would say, maybe 10, 15 years ago, in my head, I thought there was going to be an Outkast album,” Andre 3000 admits. However, he made it clear that there are currently no plans for the two to get back together. “I don’t know the future,” he admits. “But I can say that we’re further away from it than we’ve ever been.” Andre went on to say that fans are ultimately driven by nostalgia. He’s not knocking, but that’s not what he wants to help promote in his art.

“When I was 25, I knew at a certain age I wouldn’t want to be on stage singing these songs,” the artist explains. “They need a certain amount of energy. Honestly, I don’t really like looking back on it. I just don’t like it.” While it might be frustrating to hear Andre 3000 nix the possibility of more Outkast, he made it clear that he cherishes his relationship with Big The time spent together with Boi. “I’m grateful for what happened, but it was a period of time,” he concluded. “To me, that’s it. It was a great time and I wish you all were there.” Stacks isn’t interested in rap at the moment, so it makes perfect sense that an Outkast reunion wouldn’t be considered.
For the past two years, Andre 3000 has expressed reluctance to pick up the microphone. He was more interested in jazz, especially the flute. People like LL Cool J have expressed their disappointment that the Outkast star no longer wants to rap. Others, like Farrell, believe Andre simply needs time to return to the genre on his own terms. Pharrell predicts “Triple” will return to rap, and when he does, it will be with a vengeance. We’ll see if he’s right.
