Joey Crack, aka “Fat Joe,” is back on Thanksgiving Eve to show his appreciation for his fans with a little gift. On the eve of this special holiday, the New York native has released a new single “I Got You”, a collaboration with famous R&B singer Babyface. The “What’s Luv?” MC has released several solo albums since July. Frequent collaborator Remy Ma is a rowdy club singer who stands out with her unhinged verses. Then there’s the ’90s homage “Paradise,” starring DJ Khaled and Anitta. It’s fresh, summery, and fun. Now, in “I Got You,” Joe takes on the role of provider in a relationship.
This production is probably the best of the recent batch. It’s sparkling, slick, dreamy, and catchy thanks to its background sounds. Babyface enhances the latter quality with his buttery-smooth chorus, which echoes Joe’s sentiment of making this woman’s biggest dream come true. Whether hanging out with other celebrities like Beyoncé, shopping at the mall, or traveling, Joe and Babyface have you covered. Given the release pattern, there’s a good chance he’s working on an album behind the scenes. He hasn’t officially announced anything yet, but we think it’s imminent. It’s also been a while since Joe’s last album. His last solo album was 2013’s “Darkside III”. But overall, his last record was the tape “Family Ties,” which he collaborated with Dre on. This number declined in 2019.
