YoungBoy Never Broke Again reportedly pleaded guilty to 10 counts in connection with a Utah prescription fraud ring case.
NBA YoungBoy pleads guilty
NBA YoungBoy appeared in court in Logan, Utah on Monday (November 18) and pleaded guilty to charges of running a scheme to illegally obtain large quantities of prescription drugs. The Louisiana rapper pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree felony identity fraud, two counts of third-degree felony forgery and six misdemeanor counts of unlawful dispensary conduct, ABC 4 Utah reported. YB, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, pleaded “no objection” to the remaining 36 charges.
As part of the plea agreement, four felony charges were reduced to Class A misdemeanors. Logan District Judge Spencer Walsh granted probation and ordered YB to pay a $25,000 fine. The judge said he was not sentenced because YB had agreed in September to serve more than two years in prison and 60 months probation in a related federal case in another jurisdiction.
YB was arrested in April at his home in Huntsville, Utah, and charged with running a prescription fraud ring out of his home in Weber and Cache counties, Utah. Authorities said the rapper would pose as a doctor, using his real name and date of birth to order prescription drugs, which his co-workers would then pick up from local pharmacies.
During the hearing, Judge Walsh urged YB to take advantage of his bright future upon release.
“I believe that in your future, once you complete your federal prison sentence, you can be truly successful on federal probation and have a very bright future where you can reach your full potential in all aspects of your life. ,” Judge Walsh said.
YB still has a pending federal firearms case in Louisiana. He recently announced that he will release his new album “I Just Got a Lot on My Shoulders” on December 6th.
