Shyne was recently stopped by paparazzi on the streets of New York and asked about some inflammatory comments made by Funkmaster Flex. In October, the dogmatic radio personality harshly criticized the former Bad Boy Records artist’s comments about the infamous 1999 Manhattan nightclub shooting while Diddy is currently behind bars.
“When someone tries to say they were scapegoated or they were taken advantage of… it always bothers me,” he began. “I’ll keep it. Shane, I love you, brother, and I know what you’ve been doing—no, I don’t—but you’re a liar. You’re a ruthless liar, Shane.
Shyne, who is promoting his new documentary “The Honorable Shyne,” disagreed and somewhat expected Funk Flex to defend Diddy.
“He said bad things about JAY-Z and he said bad things about 2Pac, so I’m not surprised,” he told TMZ. “Listen to the missing tape. We all can’t lie. What did Nas say? He didn’t like the way Diddy treated Shane with different lawyers. But Funk Flex, like I said, he said shit about 2Pac Words, terrible words about JAY-Z. He brought my documentary to the public, so thank you for the promo.
During Funk Flex’s diatribe last month, he accused Shyne of hypocrisy and claimed he was there the day Diddy won the New York City Key Award.
“You can’t lie down with me, brother,” he said at the time. “I’m going to tell you something else, Shyne. If you hate Puff so much, you’ll be in the trailer when he gets the keys to the city, idiot. You’re such an idiot. I can’t stand you anymore. You No guts. You went to jail because you pulled out a gun because you were afraid of getting punched in the face by some guy you knew was your guy.
“You pissed them off because you were the first to sign with them. You were the first to sign with those guys! I’m going to expose you, Shyne, because you’re a liar. You can cheat your country, but you cheat Can’t reach me.
Funk Flex was apparently sparked by the trailer for “The Honorable Shyne,” which begins with Shyne reminiscing about being rap’s hottest new talent. But then the shooting happened. After the incident, both Didi and Shane were arrested, but Didi was found not guilty. Sheehan was jailed for more than 10 years for the shooting but maintains his innocence. He is currently focused on his political career. In June 2021 and February 2022, he was appointed Leader of the Opposition in the House of Representatives and Leader of the United Democratic Party of Belize.
He returned to the United States for a state visit in August 2021 and met with many American politicians. In August 2021, the Atlanta City Council declared the 20th annual “Heinvaro Day” “in recognition of his dedication, commitment and service to the great people of Belize.” He aspires to be elected as the next prime minister of Belize in 2025.
