An associate of Lil Durk has shared an alleged jailhouse phone call audio that may be the first time the Chicago rapper has spoken to the public since being taken into federal custody last month.
On Friday (November 15), Instagram user @900bruhbruh shared a nearly two-minute-long video purportedly showing Durk on the other end of the call. During the call, the man asked Lil Durk if he needed anything, but the “All My Life” lyricist assured him that he was fine and in good spirits.
Durk also appeared to deny being in protective custody and appeared to explain to the caller that he was well treated by other inmates in the general population. In the video’s caption, the Instagram user expressed support for Lil Durk and asked for his freedom, citing the outstanding character the multi-platinum rapper possesses.
“Just got off the phone with my brudda @lildurk and he’s in great spirits, keeping a positive attitude and trying to get home to his kids and family,” 900bruhbruh wrote in the post’s caption. “We don’t glorify negativity, we Not just street hustlers which is actually an understatement, we are people of honor and code no matter our financial situation.

While it’s unclear how the man is connected to Lil Durk, posts on his profile show he has a clear connection to Durkio’s Only The Family (OTF) label. In addition to collaborating with OTF rappers like Bonnie Moe, the man has also shared photos with Booka 600 and Durk himself. In a carousel post he shared in 2022, the man thanked Lil Durk for giving him a chance to chase his dreams, when he was apparently still just a content creator.
“On the same day two years ago, I was in the ‘back seat’ to a skitz, and now I’m ‘backstage’ on tour,” the user wrote. “They come from @lildurk 4eva LOYAL BROS, shot by @crownsoheavy, bloody.”

The release of video of the call comes after Lil Durk was extradited from Florida to be arraigned in federal court in Los Angeles to face charges related to his arrest last month in an alleged murder-for-hire conspiracy.
Lil Durk has pleaded not guilty to conspiracy, murder-for-hire and firearms charges. If convicted, he faces life in prison. According to reports, the judge set Durk’s trial date for January 7, 2025, with a bail hearing scheduled for December 12.
