Logic said he will abandon Playboi Carti-type music in 2025 because “hyper hip-hop” music won’t bring in the same revenue as before.
Logic will be on the Playboi Carti Wave in 2025
TMZ caught up with the Maryland rapper on his way to Detroit for Motor City Comic Con on Friday (November 8). During the brief chat, Lo talked about his August album Ultra 85 .
“I noticed that I was making super hip-hop music all the time, but it wasn’t paying the bills,” Logic says in the video below. “It’s because I made all my money before doing pop and pop music, and I’m lucky enough to be able to make music from my heart. Next year, I’m going to screw ’em up. I’m ready to throw all that away, like Playboi Carti Traps, flip shit, go grab a bag and have fun.
Back in 2020, Logic announced that he would be giving up rapping entirely. He even shed a tear as he bid his fans a bittersweet farewell. He has since changed his mind and released three more albums, including Vinyl Days (2022), College Park (2023) and the aforementioned Ultra 85 in August.
In September, he revealed that his new album would be called Phonkadelic and previewed some of the music from the new record to fans online.
“Y’all ain’t ready yet. Logic is in a different fucking zone,” he comments of the upcoming music, which contains a prominent trap vibe.
