50 Cent files lawsuit against popular jeweler
According to legal documents obtained by XXL on Friday (October 11), 50 Cent’s legal team filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against popular jeweler Trax NYC in the Southern District of New York on Thursday (October 10). In the lawsuit, 50 accuses Trax, whose real name is Maksud Trax Agadjani, of copying one of Power’s custom cross pendants and promoting the replica with 50’s likeness on social media.
In a related video posted on October 6 (shown below), Trax promoted the copies on his Instagram page.
“50 Cent got this new cross that I love. So, guess what I did? I did it. Why not?” Trax said in the video, showing a photo of 50 wearing the original on his phone. “It comes in different colors [and] style. 50. Thank you for your inspiration. You are a true gentleman. I’m sure you won’t mind.
Well, 50 does mind. He requested a jury trial and sued Trax for “not less than $5 million,” according to the lawsuit.
