JAY-Z’s lawyer blasted Piers Morgan over his recent hosting of singer Jaguar Wright’s show Piers Morgan had some wild comments comments comparing the music mogul to Diddy.
As previously reported, Wright claimed on “Piers Morgan Uncensored” that Jaycee and Beyoncé are a “nasty couple” who do “nasty things” such as “violating The will of people, putting people on planes when they are unconscious, like Aaliyah got on that plane and was already unconscious.
After the show aired, Morgan issued a rare apology for Wright’s “completely false” claims — and in a new interview, the Carters’ attorney Alex Spiro explained that he threatened legal action action.
“There were rumors and then there was nonsense and this is another step forward,” he told TMZ. “This is a sharp and formal allegation of something and I think it needs to be responded to. I think someone reported it Saying it’s a cease and desist – it’s not that – it’s a pretty straightforward ultimatum to remove patently false accusations or the court will order you to do so.
He added: “In doing this to get clicks, he did more than just harm the Carters. What he effectively did was drown out the voices of the actual victims in the ongoing case and the ongoing investigation – and that, to me, It’s too much.
Piers Morgan said in apology: “Last week, I interviewed singer-songwriter Jaguar Wright, who has been making comments about Diddy for many years. Those claims [have received] It has received widespread media attention on multiple platforms over the years.
“That’s the thing about platforms. The reality of the modern world is that almost everyone has a platform as long as they have something to say that other people want to hear.
“That’s why we invited her for an interview. People making these claims have an audience whether they have a show like mine or not.
He continued: “Jaguar Wright unexpectedly made several serious accusations against JAY-Z and Beyoncé during that interview. As I said at the time, they were not present to respond or defend themselves.
“But now they have. Their lawyers contacted us to say these claims are completely false and have no basis in fact.
Morgan concluded his apology by saying: “We therefore complied with legal requirements and removed them from the original interviews. Editing interviews on an uncensored show is not an easy task.
“But, like the proverbial cry of fire in a crowded theater, we are bound by the law. We apologize to JAY-Z and Beyoncé.
