Diddy’s lawyers have filed a third appeal in a bid to get the embattled media mogul out of prison on pretrial release.

Didi has been in jail since his arrest on Sept. 16 on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transporting for prostitution after multiple failed attempts to post bail. The music mogul’s attorney, Alexandra Shapiro, filed a motion with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second District on Tuesday (October 8), according to court documents obtained by XXL on Wednesday (October 9). , asking Didi to be released on bail for the third time.
“Sean Combs requests that the court order his release on appropriate bail conditions and order his immediate release pending the disposition of his appeal,” the motion reads.
Didi’s legal team argued that there was insufficient evidence to warrant his detention, that the court’s decision was legally erroneous, and that his “robust” $50 million bail should be enough to secure his release.
The “Bad Boy” founder’s legal team is working to get him released pending trial, which could take months. Their two previous attempts had been unsuccessful. At the first bail hearing on September 17, Magistrate Judge Robyn F. Tarnofsky refused to grant bail even though Diddy offered to post $50 million as collateral.
At a follow-up hearing on his appeal of the ruling on September 18, Diddy was again denied pretrial release, with Judge Andrew L. Carter noting the risk of witness tampering and citing Diddy’s alleged Called Diddy – Dirty Money singer Kalenna Harper more than 100 times. On September 30, the Diddy team appealed again.
Diddy is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

Diddy accusations flood in
In addition to the criminal case, Diddy faces more than a dozen lawsuits from people who say they were sexually abused by the music mogul. Last week, Texas attorney Tony Buzbee announced that he plans to sue Diddy and his associates for sexual abuse on behalf of 120 people. Twenty-five of them claimed to have been minors at the time of the incident. In an interview last week, Buzbee revealed that the hotline he set up for Diddy accusers had received more than 15,000 calls.
