Didi has been in jail for weeks since. The tycoon has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since being charged with racketeering and human trafficking. However, TMZ reports that Diddy is still trying to get out on bail. The media reported that the “Bad Boy” founder once again issued a call for bail in MDC, Brooklyn. His legal team has filed documents to appeal the latest denial, claiming he is not a risk of fleeing the country.
Diddy’s legal team had previously proposed bail of up to $50 million, but it was rejected at the urging of prosecutors. The legal team, led by attorney Marc Agnifilo, argued that the sizable bond ensured that Diddy would not be a flight risk. They also noted that the tycoon did not have any female visitors other than occasional family members. TMZ also reports that Diddy promised not to contact grand jury members and continues to seek a buyer for his private jet. To further sell prosecutors and judges, Diddy said he agreed to submit to weekly drug tests.

Diddy’s two previous attempts to post bail were outright rejected. U.S. Magistrate Judge Robyn Tarnofsky denied Didi’s initial attempt to obtain bail, citing his alleged conduct. “I do not believe the lawyer has the ability to control you,” the magistrate ruled. “Given the serious concerns I have, particularly because of substance abuse and anger issues.” A second bail attempt was denied by U.S. District Judge Andrew L. Carter. Diddy and his legal team tried to come up with a series of different guarantees, including GPS monitoring and visitor restrictions. Unfortunately for them, the result is the same.
Carter deemed the proposed conditions “insufficient” and ruled that Dee Dee must remain in prison to ensure the integrity of the upcoming case. Marc Agnifilo is the most outspoken member of the Bad Boy founder’s legal team. After his second appeal was dismissed, he told reporters he would not rest until Didi was released. “I’m not going to let him spend another day in jail,” Agnifilo asserted. We’ll have to wait and see if Diddy’s third attempt to connect is successful.
