On Rich Homie Quan’s new posthumous album, Gunna captures a wanderer from beyond the grave.
“Forever Goin In” was released on Friday (October 4) and contains 35 songs, including songs from 2 Chainz, Sukihana, Plies, Lil Tjay, Skilla Baby and more.
On the clip “One of Quan,” a play on Gunna’s One Of Wun album title, the late rapper seemingly came for his fellow Atlantan out of nowhere, as the two had previously had no public issues.
“They might think I took over the Gunna flow, but it’s my groove, I did it/N-ggas stole the swag, I just sat in the back, I can’t even say shit!”
Now, though, Guna is no stranger to catching stray animals with wax. Future seemed to take a particularly threatening jab at Ferg on his new single “Allure” on the same day Rich Homie Quan’s album was released.
The song features the duo trading bars over Mike WiLL Made-It’s beat, built around haunting synths and trap drums.
In his guest verse, Hendrix warns an unnamed enemy: “You have made a plea to my slime, and you shall not be surprised by your death.”
Fans were quick to connect the lyrics to Gunna, who controversially accepted an Alford plea in his YSL RICO case against Young Thug, which the YSL rapper is still on trial for.
“Will Future laugh at Guna’s new features?” one listener wrote on
A third user chimed in: “The future is still on Guna’s neck because you guys try to ignore it so he keeps reminding you what happened.”
The apparent photo is just the latest for Future, who began attacking Gunna earlier this year after he deleted a social media post promoting the rapper’s single “Prada Dem” with Offset.
Soon after, the Freebandz boss shared a clip of his “Type Shit” collaboration with Travis Scott and Playboi Carti, which would eventually appear on his and Metro Boomin’s We Don’t Trust You album, in which he raps : “I don’t like rats, that’s some new type of shit/Getting a n-gga hit with news type shit.”
Pluto later appeared to try to eclipse Gunna’s One of Wun album, hinting that he would release a new mixtape on May 10, the same day One of Wun was scheduled to be released.
“Fuck your album Shit doesn’t smack like my MIXTAPE,” he wrote on Twitter, before adding: “May 10th [sneezing face emoji]”.
The “Fukumean” hitmaker seemed to fire back, writing: “Tune this shit back to Notch…! What are these boys talking about.
It turns out that Future was simply quoting lyrics from a May 10 song with Tee Grizzley.
Still, Gunna was left in hot water when Mixtape Pluto finally launched last month, as he was removed from the song “Told My,” which had previously leaked a verse from the YSL star.
Gunnar seemed to take his removal from the mixtape in stride, writing on social media: “This isn’t personal, it’s just business.”
