Tekashi 6ix9ine doesn’t have the hit-making ability that he once showed. The rapper once topped the charts with collaborations between Nicki Minaj and Fetty Wap. However, the longer time passes, the harder it becomes for 6ix9ine to spark interest in his music. He is more of a celebrity than an artist. That’s why the rapper felt the need to change sides and sign a record deal with a completely new label. TMZ confirms that Tekashi 6ix9ine recently signed with Kartel Music and plans to release an album with regional Mexican artists.

Tekashi 6ix9ine’s deal could net him $6 million. His plan was to record an album that would appeal to Spanish-speaking audiences. He also plans to tour in Mexico and Central and South America. TMZ analyzed the contract and claimed the rapper would be paid $1 million to complete a 10-song album. He will then be paid $250,000 per concert date. Add it all up, and that could bring in the aforementioned $6 million. It’s an impressive change for a guy who’s been stagnant on the hip-hop charts as mentioned. However, the deal comes with certain conditions. Tekashi 6ix9ine will not be in legal trouble or arrested during the production of the album.

Tekashi 6ix9ine’s new deal could net him $6M

This isn’t the first time Tekashi 6ix9ine has catered to Latino audiences. He released a reggae album in 2023 titled Leyenda Viva. His debut English album, Dummy Boy, 2018. He rebuked critics who claimed he switched careers for clout. The rapper also claimed that he should be able to cater to different groups.

“You know how many black Hispanics were born and raised,” he asserted. “In all of New York City? What you’re saying is, Hispanic niggas can’t eat? When you’re Hispanic, you can only make reggaeton music? That’s our culture too, nigga.” Spanish Music by Tekashi 6ix9ine It was not well received by critics. That said, it hasn’t slowed him down. He recently dropped a diss song in Spanish for his ex-girlfriend. His upcoming album will be his most concentrated attempt at crossover success to date.
