Exclusive – Daylyt cleared up rumors that he secretly helped Drake write his Meek Mill diss track “Back to Back.”

The West Coast rapper called into the latest episode of HipHopDX’s The Bigger Picture to confirm that he didn’t write any part of the punishing track.

However, he did reveal that he may have planted the seeds for the song, which Drizzy ranks as the fourth greatest diss record in hip-hop history by DX.

“I can now clear up the misunderstanding,” Daylyt told hosts Elliot Wilson, DJ Hurd and Jeremy Hecht. “No, I didn’t write ‘Back to Back.'” I just put it there. I’ll leave it in the air.

He then explained his role in the song’s creation: “Now, what I can say – and I’ll say this publicly – is that I was probably some of the inspiration for the concept of this record.

“After Charged Up went off the air, I was definitely like, ‘Yeah, man. You gotta throw stuff back to back. You gotta run some shit back to back.’ I just kept saying, ‘Back to back.’ “I think that was the original intention of this album.

“I was like, ‘Don’t give it [Meek] No time to reply. Just double down on him. The concept itself became the actual record.

When pressed by co-host DJ Hed about any other songs he might have helped Drake write, Daylyt remained silent: “I’m not going to talk about anything else. Y’all gotta talk to my manager.

Daylyt sets the record straight on Drake’s “Back To Back” ghostwriting rumors 👀 @daylyt30 called in to #TheBiggerPicture and confirmed that while he didn’t write any bars for Back to Back, he may have inspired the song’s title and timing. Some believe Kendrick Lamar referenced Daylyt’s (now debunked) involvement in “Back to Back” on “Future” and “Metro Boomin’s” “Like That” In it he raps: “Your best work is a light bag.”

When asked if he thought K. Dot was talking about him in his fiery guest verse, Daylyt responded: “Knowing Kendrick and the way he raps, he’s pretty crafty, so I don’t know if he Seriously. To be honest, I don’t know.

The TDE affiliate has previously addressed ghostwriting speculation about his song “Lyt Skin,” including some shots directed at Drake.

“I stay up late writing and don’t get the credit I deserve/I’m the one sending the letters of recommendation, I’m the one editing the words/I don’t ask for credits, I just check for debit deposits, observe,” he said.

“I was a handyman, the burger helper of the logo/Just jumping into the tame beef for the promotion/I guess that’s how the show goes/When you show disrespect to the people who respect and ignore you.”

He also accused Liushen of not inviting him to his mansion party and ignoring his text messages after he started working with XXXTENTACION, who was feuding with Drake before his death.

Despite this, Daylyt revealed on “The Big Picture” that his and Derek’s relationship has been going strong lately.

“I just talked to Drake a while ago,” he said. “I’m not talking to him about anything that’s going on. It’s basically a rap battle about the future. […] Between me and a few other people.

He then joked, “I don’t want to say this guy’s name because, you know, I’m a big-time rapper and I’m not going to mention these little guys anymore.”

The full episode of The Bigger Picture will be available to stream on Saturday (September 28) on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.
